Micro-Interaction Explorations: Motion Design Experiments
During my time at Pineapple UX/UI Design Studio, I embarked on a series of motion design experiments focused on crafting engaging micro-interactions. The intent behind these explorations was to push the boundaries of what delightful UI could feel like, elevating everyday user actions—like deleting, saving, and downloading—into moments of visual intrigue.
Project Highlights
Concept: Each animation started as a playful prompt—how might a simple button or action spark a smile or surprise? The goal was to explore the intersection where utility meets visual delight.
Tools Used: The projects were brought to life using Adobe XD for interface design and Adobe After Effects for intricate motion work, enabling pixel-perfect transitions and lively feedback.
Roles: I was involved end-to-end, taking ownership of both UI aesthetics and motion design, while working closely under the direction and mentorship of my design director.
Purpose: The resulting video collages serve not just as eye candy, but as promotional material for Pineapple's Dribbble page. The aim is to offer a glimpse into our creative process and spotlight our team’s finesse in UX/UI craftsmanship.
What Makes These Micro-Interactions Special?
Carefully choreographed transitions for familiar UI actions.
Playful color palettes and smooth, non-intrusive animations.
Versatile design explorations—from minimalist to exuberant styles—to showcase a range of creative approaches.
These bite-sized animations capture Pineapple’s philosophy: design should be both functional and joyful. Showcasing this collection on Dribbble is more than self-promotion—it’s about inspiring designers to rethink every pixel and every movement.
